Oddly productive

It’s been an oddly productive week for me.

I’ve revamped this site, and started a new book project with 2 more waiting in the wings.

At the same time, , I feel like I’ve been incredibly lazy. So, here are some of the movies and shows I’ve watched this week and somehow managed to be productive:

A day’s worth of binge watching Supernatural

5 episodes of Firefly Lane

Nomadland

H.H. Holmes: Original Evil

The Summer of ‘84

Asylumn

The Shining

Too many episodes of The Middle

despite all that and whatever I’ve forgotten, I managed to edit and refine the sketch I did of fairies for my next children’s book.

Let me know what you think and what shows/movies you’ve been watching lately in the comments.

New Project

I have a new idea for 2 new children’s books and since I have ADHD that means I’ve been hyper focused on creating the illustrations and stories for said books.

My husband came in the living room yesterday and let me know that he thinks I’m obsessing. Of course, I didn’t realize that I had been working on the same design for 4 hours. whoops.

So I homeschooled the kids and did some house work and made dinner and tabled the story writing to today, which I have to say must have been a good idea because it was a rousing success.

Here’s a basic sketch of the characters for one of the stories

Hopefully I can kick it into gear and work on publishing before summer.

Let me know what you think!

Welcome!

Congratulations!

You have stumbled upon my weird corner of the internet.

I make art, I write scary stories and children books (Separately. I am not of the habit of making scary children’s books. Yet.)

My art ranges from acrylic on canvas or wood to laser cutting and engraving and a little bit of everything in between. I love trying new techniques and methods, and I enjoy creating my own designs and that are a reflection of my vision.

My short stories, poems, and novels are more of a reflection of the dark side of my imagination. I am ever fascinated by the strange and macabre, and as I look back on my life experiences I enjoy exploring the dark crevices of those memories. Why not delve into the fears I had in the barn, midwinter, in the pitch-black seconds before I hit the light switch?

My children’s books are lighter and fluffier and focus on education while still offering engaging and fun illustrations and stories.

And that’s me in a nutshell!

I hope you’ll take a moment to check out my art, my books, and other miscellany and let me know what you think!
